My name is Max Alessandrini. I am Italian and have been living in Barcelona/Spain since 2000.

I graduated in DAMS (Discipline of the Arts, Music and Drama) From University of Bologna. I have many interests and a particular attention to everything that concerns Cinema, Comics, Cartoons and Music. I decided to build this web page to create a showcase for my projects and own creations.

I CREATE CONCEPTS

FOR TV SERIES.

In 1995 I created the concept and the characters of the cartoon TV series “Tommy & Oscar”.

The series has been produced by the Italian company Rainbow S.p.a. and has gained great success all over the world.

In 1999, unexpectedly, Iginio Straffi (C.E.O. of Rainbow) selfdeclared unique authorship of the series. In the same year I started a long legal battle for recognition of my authorship of the concept and the characters of Tommy & Oscar.

Finally, I won the trial against Rainbow in July of 2008.

I PLAY THE SAXOPHONE.

My first saxophone (a “Borgani” alto sax) was a present from my parents when I was 14 years old. Despite the attempts of my parents to send me to music lessons with a teacher who wanted to force me to listen music only by Fausto Papetti, I consider myself as a self-taught person.

I cannot read music and I play by ears.

Everything I learned I owe to the many and many hours spent playing along vinyls by Grover Washington Jr., Tom Scott and David Sanborn.

In 1993 I have been one of the funders

of the band “Funk Sinatra” (the band’s name is my idea). I played with them in the best clubs of Central Italy until 1995.

At the moment I don’t have a fixed band but I often play in various Jam Sessions of the scene of Barcelona. Especially in club “Jazz Sí ” and “Sala Monasterio”.

I PAINT AND DRAW PICTURES.

I paint and draw using different techniques, mainly acrylic, charcoal and oil pastels.

I CREATE AND DEVELOP INTERACTIVE PROJECTS.

Since the very first appearences of “Tommy & Oscar”, which were originally conceived as characters for an interactive CD-ROM, I have participated in many different multimedia projects such as catalogues, videogames and interactive encyclopedias.
